The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) protects California consumers by licensing and regulating the state's construction industry. CSLB was established in 1929 and today licenses about 285,000 contractors in 45 different classifications.

CSLB offers resources and information to help contractors perform professionally, legally, and safely. CSLB encourages licenses to routinely monitor their license status to confirm that it is "active" and not under suspension.

This process was created by CSLB to allow insurers to fill in and submit Workers' Compensation policy requirements through the CSLB Website, directly into the database.
