Amtrak launches new fleet of Acela trains to run through East Coast
Yesterday, I caught Amtrak #5(15) with two private cars from from Patrick Henry Creative Promotions. They are the Evelyn A. Henry and the Warren R. Henry. The train was running about ten minutes late east of Ottumwa, Iowa.
Amtrak phone agents are legendarily ignorant of field conditions. Recently, when the Maple Leaf started running through, I modified my November Niagara Falls -New York reservation to Toronto-New York.

Auto Train, other than possibly contributing to Amtrak’s bottom line, does nothing else for the national network. It creates no connecting traffic, diverts Amtrak equipment and other resources away from the national network, and might even take away some passengers that might otherwise ride the regular trains to Florida and rent a car.
