Re: Homemade boat cover bows / poles I needed to raise the stern part of the cover a couple feet, so I buil;t a frame back there: put 2' long pieces of broomstick in the rod holders, then got a piece of 2" PVC the width of the boat, and put a 90* bend in each end to fit over the sticks. Held the cover up enough to shed water.

Re: Plug on the inside or outside of the boat? You've got to remember that most boat's plugs cannot be easily reached from the inside. The advantage though to inside is you can literally use it to get water out . . . With a boat on plane water will rush out of the drain hole, so if you have a leak or take on a lot of water in a small boat without a bilge pump you can get her on a slow plane ...

Re: Quachita boat information In Jr High (early 70's) a friend had one, I guess about 16' fiberglass, cathedral hull, had an 80 on it, that boat would run like a scalded dog. Came from a fishing pro; his family made Hopkins lures.
