From my understanding, catl's sodium battery isn't a lithium replacement, it's designed to be used in conjunction with lithium to balance weight, capacity, and c rating. Also byd cars are going up in smoke all the time, so hopefully they'll figure out a way to increase safety, because lithium will still be used even when salt is incorporated.
