Their cabelas brand products were great value for the money and stores were always stocked with reasoanble prices. After Bass Pro ate them up, the Cabelas brand disappeared and was replaced with the Bass Pro brand. Prices were hiked across the board and the variety of selection usually found at Cabelas disappeared.

Went to Cabelas for a new hunting jacket. I was told by multiple sales employees that Cabelas brand apparel and products are only warrantied for 90 days unless you want to purchase an extended 1 year warranty. What in the world is up with that? When considering your next purchase be sure to ask the warranty details, don’t just assume!
A good example: A number of years ago when Cabelas still made the Fish Eagle II rods I went into a bargain cave and there was a Fish Eagle II rod with about 3 inches broke off the tip.
