NOBODY catches coyotes like this guy. You can scroll his channel for how he does it, but basically he dumps trailers full of meat scraps around the area, and surrounds them with snares.
Does anyone use a 22LR hollowpoint for coyotes? My sister has a place that is infested and asked if I could try to kill a few. Any shots would be within 50 yards. I was thinking about using my CZ 455 setup.
For the coyotes, it'll get the job done but it's not going to have the distance most folks prefer for coyotes. If you'll only be hunting in wooded areas or know you'll have close shots I'd say go for it. It's a great round that has always performed well for my setup, but I will say, if you don't plan on suppressing it I wouldn't purchase it.
Residents do not need a fur harvester license to hunt coyotes. They can be hunted with just a base license on State Game Areas or private land year-round. EXCEPTION: Residents hunting coyote Nov. 10-14 must have a fur harvester license and are limited to a rimfire firearm .22 caliber or smaller during the Nov. 10-14 quiet period. See page 70.
