All had about a 20% cull rate with pleated necks and shoulders, flash holes not centered or round, even some with 2 distinct flash holes. This needs done with all brass, but you will cull several cases….more than 10%, I believe. After sorting, neck turning and annealing, I believe you will have 1/2 moa potential.
Greetings. First post, but I've gleaned lots of info over the years. Great forums. Summary: My 300 win mag brass is averaging well below the trim-to length. Should I trim it all to near the shortest and go for it, or should I waste a bunch and try and cull out the stuff that's well below...
Final cull was 35 stags, quite a few of which I shot myself. I ran LRX bullets out of all three of my rifles, a Tikka T3x in 6.5 Creedmoor (127g @ 2,765ft/sec), a semi custom Remington in .270 (129g @ 2,890ft/sec) and a Sako 75 in 7mm STW (168g @ 3,250ft/sec).
Nathan Foster is a gentleman in New Zealand that between guide service and cull hunts, has likely taken more game than more than 99% of sportsmen in the world. He has documented much of his work with many different calibers and bullet combinations.
I'm tempted to give them a whirl on my upcoming AXIS cull hunt in Texas next month. Let me know if there's good evidence of them not performing up to expectation in terminal performance.
Rouan offered me a cull Zebra for a great price. Because of conditions I thought that was a good option to have. Not far out of camp we spotted a Zebra. tried to get on it but nothing doing. I figured this wasn't going to be easy. We moved out into the main farm which has around 10,000 acres and has a couple of mtns in it. We started driving.
