Dr. House is an internist who is also board certified in both nephrology and infectious disease.
Despite its flaws, House is still way better than what my generation had--Dr. Kildare and Ben Casey. Howabout the soaps?, i.e. General Hospital. I still tease my cousin about how she used to go gaga for Rick Springfield, who played Dr. Noah Drake on the show. What about st. elsewhere?
Of course I still want to hit the high points, especially with things that come up again on Step 2. My current plan is to see what we're covering in class, watch some BnB/pathoma videos, do the relevant pre-made cards, then apply the concepts via amboss questions/in-house questions, while making cards on what I'm getting wrong.
As far as in-house exams, they will have no relevance to Step II as you will have NBME Shelf exams for each rotation so can just focus on board prep material for studying. I’m aware that some school do use in-house exams during clinical years, but these are by and far the exception, tend to be limited to 1-2 rotations, and/or are used in conjunction with Shelf exams.
