.300 BLK for elk? This may be a bit of a stretch. The 300 BLK from a 16" barrel has very similar ballistics to the 30 Herrett from a 14" handgun. The Herrett round is considered adequate for medium game at moderate ranges (150 yards and less) and less than ideal but functional on larger game a short range (under 75 yards).
Looking for a muzzleloader or modern Elk hunt for my wife. I ran across Elk Junction Outfitters when I was at Send A Vet found raiser auction and dinner last Saturday.
