Get Acquainted With Florissant Parks The City, through its Parks and Recreation Department, offers 20 parks comprising almost 400 acres, a variety of recreation facilities, including two community centers, two aquatic centers, an 18-hole public golf course, a covered ice rink and many other recreation programs and services to the residents of Florissant.

The City Florissant is governed by a 9-person City Council and Mayor Timothy Lowery. Citizens are encouraged to participate in their community government. City Council meetings are open to the public and citizens may speak up to 3 minutes under "hearings from citizens". Citizens may also apply to serve in a vacancy on a city board or commission.
