You need to level up the Homesteading mastery. So, go to your masteries and select the first one for Homesteading, then go out and level it up with xp. You can then come back after putting a mastery point in the first track and craft the bed. Relevant GW2 wiki page/section.
Is that a thing in GW2 or crafting is pointless? In GW2, it's moot for these purposes. Especially when you consider the resources you invest to level a craft to the maximum and how long it takes to get that back out to make a profit. My account is 10 years old and I still have a craft that is not 500 (leatherworker) because there is no need.
According to GW2 efficiency, it takes approximately 555g to craft 30 of each crafting professions’ backpacks from scratch (at insta buy; about 471g if you place orders for everything).
Crafting in GW2 is the least relevant i've ever seen in an MMO. It has no bearing until max level, where its use is still questionable. There are much cheaper sources for the gear crafting can provide, and its only use is for crafting niche items that go into the forge -- or collections, if thats your thibg. Ignore it till you get to 80, then decide if its worth it.
If I don't have any excess ascended pieces to salvage, I usually just mass-craft whichever lv80 exotic helmet has the cheapest insignia on marketboard (usually something like magi or rabid that people get regularly from salvaging exotics) and directly salvage-into-researchnotes from the crafting menu.
So with the Godspawn update, you can now select Demolisher as a PvE/WvW stat from certain items, here's a problem: You cannot craft one with said stat, unless the item itself comes with stat-selectable prefix. This means unless you get an item from a collection, you cannot obtain an item with Dem...
