HDF, or high-density fiberboard, is an engineered wood panel made from compressed wood fibers, resin, and wax. It’s denser and harder than its better-known cousin MDF (medium-density fiberboard), with a specific gravity between 0.85 and 1.2, roughly equivalent to 850 to 1,200 kg per cubic meter.
