The Hopi Tribal Government is a unicameral government where all the powers are vested in the Tribal Council. While there is an executive branch (tribal chairman and vice chairman) and judicial branch, their powers are limited under the Hopi Constitution.
The responsibility requires the involvement and the input of the Hopi villages, clans, and religious societies as well as the Hopi tribal government. The Hopi Cultural Preservation Office is the central tribal clearing house for the culturally related issues coming to the attention of the Hopi Tribe.
The Hopi Wildlife & Ecosystems Management Program (WEMP) is divided between the Wildlife Management Unit and Ecosystems Management Unit. Each Management Unit has different responsibilities, goal and objectives, but share a common goal to meet our Mission and Function.
