I’m thinking OSB or plywood. Looking online at Lowe’s 7/16 osb is $15 a sheet and 15/32 plywood is $25 a sheet. Osb is prices better and would be just fine but I’m wondering is plywood is worth the extra cost. I don’t intend to have much hanging on the walls but I’d assume plywood would hold screws better.

I need to butt-joint two pieces of plywood with glue and screws. Will plywood tolerate having a screw driven into its edge (even with a pilot hole), or will the plywood split? What about butt-jointing normal wood, with the screw driven into end grain? How well will that hold up?
Don't just use glue for plywood miter joints. Your last choice is best of those listed because the biscuits. Fine Woodworking or some other wood magazine last month had an article about joining plywood miters with splines and/or with aluminum angles attached to wood that fit into mortises on each piece of plywood.
