Hello we are Maek, a member based craft collective built in pursuit of Caring More About Less. Membership gets you access to all our ceramics and sewing locations across San Diego County.
Jose Mariscal Maek was honored to host Jose for a two day throwing and texture workshop. Jose is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics and is a Master Potter from Spain who taught a handful of members techniques for throwing large vessels in porcelain.
Maek is guided by a core set of principles: "Be candid with our ethos, curate a line of goods that we believe in, and collaborate with other folks who are doing good work, all with the goal to care more about less."
While we were throwing in our studio / storefront (Maek Ceramics xoxo) countless folks would come in asking if we had any space for others to work, and so Maek Friends was born, a studio both physically and conceptually built around community crafting.
Your membership gives you access to all Maek studios! Whatever studio you are closest to / spend the majority of your time in will be your home studio but you can allocate your 24 hours of membership to any of our three studios! more info on our Membership page.
