Hideto Takarai (寶井 秀人, Takarai Hideto; born , in Wakayama, Japan), [1] known by his stage name Hyde (stylized in upper or lowercase), is a Japanese musician, singer-songwriter, record producer, and actor.

Hyde was the guitarist in another band when he was "recruited" by Tetsuya in 1991 to form the band L'ArcenCiel. Since then, Hyde became the main lyricist of the band, although he also composes music for the band, and for his solo work.
After a five-year absence from the U.S., HYDE returned with a new album and global tour, reigniting the magic of his legendary live performances. Eerie, carnival-like music filled the air as fans packed the floor.
