Hydrangea White Tree

Hydrangea paniculata blooms on new wood so if late spring frosts are an issue, locating one against a wall or other heat sink helps prevent damage from spring freezes is a good idea. Unlike its mophead cousins, the paniculata can be trained to a small, single-trunked tree, which would be a showpiece in a small garden.

Hydrangea arborescens Commonly known as Wild Hydrangea or Smooth Hydrangea, is a species of Hydrangea native to eastern North America. Hydrangea arborescens 'Hayes Starburst' Grows 3-5 feet tall, 5-7 feet wide. Flowers are white often exceeding 10-12 inches in diameter. Produces blooms on NEW wood, stems produced during the current growing season.
