The only proper version of "Kingdom of Heaven" to watch is the director's cut. The differences between it and the film's theatrical release are staggering.
The result? A 195-minute cut with character development, less plot holes and a much-improved story. Hot off the heels of a just-announced 4K Blu-ray release, “Kingdom of Heaven: Director’s Cut” is now finally going to be released in theaters, according to EmpireCity Box Office.
Kingdom of Heaven: Director's Cut was released on , at the Laemmle Fairfax Theatre in Los Angeles, unsupported by advertising from 20th Century Fox. This version has been universally praised and is what Ridley Scott originally wanted released to theaters, and is approximately 45 minutes longer than the original theatrical cut.
