I bought my CAI CETME new in 2009 and it has run right as rain right out of the box. Friends that bought new CAI rifles recently seem to be reporting the same experience.
I know the quality of CAI rifles is questionable, but for an AK, and for the price, it may be what I'm looking for. Any input is much appreciated!
CAI L1A1 questions ive been debating for the past few months on whethere or not to get a cetme (or clone) or a FN FAL (or clone) In a month or so from what ive heard and read CAI is going to be releasing a small batch of cetmes (of unknown quality) but still the option to get something affordable, new and fun i was thinking of that route
Yes the story is true. Century imported a lot of Imbel receivers without the desirable Gear Logo of Imbel. Many people see the Century stamp on the receiver and walk away from what is probably the best receiver made for FAL's. Very desirable rifle, if you know what you are looking at and know all the ins and outs of the FAL world. Only thing wrong with it is it says CAI instead of the Imbel ...
If there is an internal operating issue, that will be covered by a dealer exchange, or made right by CAI, which as you pointed out, has excellent customer service. I like many, have handled weapons from CAI that have in fact had canted sights. I simply asked to see another one.
