Pier A Harbour House New York

Saw dash point pier in area 11 of the sound was closed. After hunting for a time line or updates (I even tried using AI) I can find anything besides info besides the closure in '23.

The CR is a whole different animal than a small bay. Reality is if we do put a crab pier in near deep enough water to catch crab, the peoole crabbing there will likely use too light of gear for our currdnt and within 6 months the will be so much derelict gear near tge pier it will become unfishable. BB pier was really good about 10 years ago for rock crab, but has been slim pickings in recent years. The Bremerton area has good crabbing, but there are health concerns/pollution.

I live in Astoria, and travel Hwy 202 everyday... fishing from the pier looks very tempting, and much closer than the beach. Does anyone have other suggestions for bank fishing along the Youngs Bay/River?

The piers were fun too - live bait off the little pier in King Harbor for big Bonito and during a couple El NiƱo years we even had Yellowtail. Barges are gone these days, and little pier is closed/fenced off.

Seems like pier fishing is the name of the game, generally best done during the winter months, (hint hint), from what I also understand is the more light shining into the water the better therefore I am thinking along ferry docks/piers?
