A common issue is a wire getting tugged loose or chafed during the starter removal. 2. ECM to Lift Pump Wiring: The lift pump is controlled directly by the ECM (no relay in some cases, despite the one you checked). The ECM sends power to the lift pump via a transistor, and a damagedwire here could cause your issue.
ISB came with the infamous electric lift pump and the VP-44. ISC came with the same infamous electric lift pump, and the equally infamous CAPS pump. The ISC lift pump also had a built in bypass and only ran for 2 minutes at engine start it was then turned off and the CAPS gear pump then pulled fuel from the tank through the bypass.
I have a 95 175hp p pump that is going on an older engine in place of a ve pump that is giving out on me. The engine (including the pump) was 100% stock, and was set at 12.5 degrees timing. I am thinking of setting it to about 17 degrees. The 12v Cummins engine (this one is getting the p pump)...

The injection pump had to be fitted to get the gear lash correct. As it turned out, the 6.7 head doesn’t have enough room for the P-pump. The early 24v and the 12v have room cast in the intake plenum to allow for the fit of the p-pump. On later motors, the intake plenum has been opened up quite a bit. A few options can be used here.
