On August 2024, Terry Ragon announced that he is funding HIV cure research through his Ragon Institute and donated around $400 million to the cause.
“The Ragon Institute of Mass General Brigham, MIT, and Harvard is a unique collaboration of some of the world’s leading scientific organizations with a vision of harnessing the immune system to prevent and cure human disease,” said Terry Ragon, who is also founder and CEO of InterSystems Corporation.
The Ragon Institute was officially established in February 2009 at Mass General, MIT, and Harvard with a dual mission: to contribute to the accelerated discovery of an HIV/AIDS vaccine and to establish itself as a world leader in the collaborative study of immunology.
