If you can edit the Notes field, then import your contacts into the existing Contacts folder using the Replace duplicates with items imported option to replace the existing contacts. If you are unable to edit the Notes field, then create a new contacts folder and import your contacts into the new folder.
In step 5, when prompted out to handle duplicates, be sure to choose Replace duplicates with items imported. You can edit the CSV file using Excel to add names and other missing information.
If versioning is enabled in SharePoint and you replace a file, you aren't actually overwriting the original, but creating another version. For more info on versioning, see View the version history for a file in a SharePoint document library.
If you do need to replace your security information, make sure you add new information first. If you request removal of all security information in your account, the account is put into a restricted state for 30-days.
