Rivian is building these to make money at $45-50k. The pack sizes in ABRP track with the need for lower cost, and track with range estimates provided previously. 300 miles of range from a 95 kWh pack is 3.2 mi/kWh. It is definitely a reasonable EPA efficiency number for the size and shape of the R2.
Rivian probably could have done something similar for the Trimotor and dual max by dropping the price for both (say $5k) and raise the lower models more ($1K on Dual large). Also I still say Rivian needs to introduce stripped down "Pro" model based on the standard R1T with a single motor around $60K for 2026.
