I have a burning desire to install RPMs onto my Ubuntu installation - is this possible? Can I use Yum - or another RPM Package Management tool?

I want to install the daily current build of LibreOffice in Ubuntu but they only make it available in .rpms. I know I'm supposed to use Alien to convet .rpms to .debs but I can't find a command to batch convert all of them in the RPMS folder in my Ubuntu 12.04.

For example, to unpack all RPMs in the current directory, use ... This will extract the contents to the current directory as well, and all files will be owned by the current user, much like extracting a tarball as a normal user.

The recommended way is NOT INSTALL RPMs as they weren't package for Debian/Ubuntu. You need DEB, not RPM so try to find the software you want properly packaged for Debian derivatives. This is an X-Y problem.
