As these snails feed off of algae, perhaps you could add some other herbivorous snails to compete with the existing ones for food, like Trochus and Cerith snails as well as conchs. The dove snail population in my tank reached its greatest size when my tank was younger and my film algae grew faster. You could also try selling extra snails.
