But in stud if all 8 (max table) people were in to 7th street then you would burn one and the last card is a community card. That is why you can't burn in stud if you burned you could potentially run out of cards by 5th or 6th street. Now I know it is rare to have that many in that far.
The low card bi lessens the effect compared to stud hi or razz but it's still there. For example, Xx5 in the hj with dead big cards behind, you should be considering widening significantly for antes in a full game.

Why has Stud Hi gained so much popularity among the Chinese anyway, especially while Hi/Lo and Razz don't seem to have a very unusual amount of Chinese players? Is the advantage gained by colluding so much higher than in other variants? Even then though, Chinese players seem to be very skilled when playing legitimately as well.

In stud/8, the killer is last to act on 3rd street. So if a 2c brings it in and i'm right behind him with an Ac, i'm forced to "raise" it to $20 (or $30) the first time, without any other choice.
