The swords are now safe and sound in my safe :) These swords are a memento of my grandfather’s service in WWII, and a symbol of the great sacrifice that his generation made in order to secure the blessings of liberty for his children and grandchildren. It was my great honor to redeem these swords and pass this legacy along to my sons one day.

Civil war swords and knifes are being remade by blacksmiths which makes it even more scary trying to collect them. I now stay away from the civil war stuff unless its guarenteed for life by the seller and that normally dont or wont happen because alot of times the person selling them really dont know for sure either.If it is a copy Im sorry it happened to you. Swords are always to be worn with uniform, when absent from the ship on duty ; or when on leave on foreign stations. Swords and belts, presented to officers for public services, may be worn in full dress instead of the regulation sword and belt.
