So I ordered Terramycin ointment online. Started the terramycin ointment yesterday, did two treatments. This morning the chick looked fine. I came home about 2ish and the chicks one eye was red and closed shut. Second eye was not as worse and it a little red at the bottom.
Terramycin eye ointment is expensive but WORTH it. I paid $38 and saved two hens that I paid a lot of money for and were just fixing to start laying. The swollen eyes healed in about 3-4 days and back to normal.
My question is is whether or not it is actually safe to use terramycin antibiotic eye ointment on ducks. I've heard mixed responses. Some recommend it, while others say it can harm ducks. The paper insert that came with it doesn't even list birds of any kind. I've seen articles saying that it is approved for chickens and roosters, but not ...
Terramycin eye ointment is applied 2-4 times a day to the eye. I would clean the eye with saline eye wash and cotton, then apply a small dab of the ointment into the eye.
