A full set of new Taylormade or Titleist irons is obviously a lot of $$, so if you're having doubts and haven't done a good fitting with an impartial fitter, I'd recommend doing that. Paying $100-150 for a good fitting, with a range of clubs, will save you making another mistake... or confirm the p790s are good fit for you.

I've narrowed it down to the Titleist T150 and the Mizuno 243, and the other clubs in the running were the Srixon ZX5 Mk II, TM 770, and Callaway Apex Pro. I full realize that I'm going against MyGolfSpy's Buyer's Guide "First Versus Worst: Player's Distance Irons" article which ranks the ZX5s first and the T150s last. But...the heart wants ...
