Trusted documents are files that have been marked as trusted by enabling active content in them. Active content (macros, ActiveX controls, data connections, and so on) opens without the Message Bar warning after you mark the file as trusted.

A trusted location in Microsoft Office is a folder that contains files you trust to be safe. You should use a trusted location to store a file when you don't want that file to be checked by the Trust Center, or if you don't want it to open in Protected View.

When you make your computer a trusted device, you won't need to enter a security code each time you try to access sensitive info, like credit card information associated with your Microsoft account.

In Excel, you can change the macro security settings to control which macros run and under what circumstances when you open a workbook.
