2026 Tukwila City of Opportunity Scholarship Application now available The City of Tukwila Scholarship Program was established in 2014. The mission of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to individuals enrolled for undergraduate study in community colleges, colleges, trade schools and universities.
Tukwila’s location at the crossroads of rivers, trails, highways and railroads helped determine its destiny as a center of commerce. In the late 1860s, shipping was done by approximately 65 flat-bottomed riverboats that traveled the Duwamish, Green and Black Rivers, from Seattle to Auburn and back.
Tukwila Parks & Recreation oversees parks & facilities, & offers a wide range of recreational events, programs, and services for all ages.
Visitor Information With dozens of hotels and many activities, Tukwila is a great place to visit. Anchored by Westfield Southcenter, which is the largest mall in the Pacific Northwest, Tukwila has hundreds of stores and restaurants.
These can be places like a coffee shop, the Tukwila Library, or the Tukwila Community Center. Our State of the City event is one such opportunity to create that sense of community and connection. I hope you’ll join me on Wednesday, April 29, at the Foster High School Performing Arts Center.
