I replaced my old Vizio Sound Bar (SB3820-C6) with a new one. I wanted to have an HDMI input for HDMI ARC, and a built in subwoofer. Instead of tossing the old one, I thought it I'd hang it in my garage to connect to my phone via Bluetooth to have music on while working on the car or whatever.
Vizio power on/off and multiple input discrete remote control codes work I can confirm that the vizio remote control discrete codes for power on, power off, hdmi 1 to 5, AV1 & 2, component 1 &2, all work on the 551.

If your Vizio sound bar is unresponsive to your Vizio sound bar remote just unplug the soundbar, count to ten and replug. This procedure solved my Vizio remote communication outage.
