Longtail was a ThunderClan elder who lived under Firestar's leadership in the forest and lake territories and previously served as a warrior under Bluestar and Firestar. He was born to Robinwing and Patchpelt as Longkit, and he was later apprenticed to Darkstripe as Longpaw.
When Bluestar first brought Rusty to join her Clan, it was Longtail, barely out of the apprentices’ den and full of the brash arrogance Darkstripe had instilled in him, who loudly challenged the kittypet’s right to train as a warrior.
Longtail is a major character in Erin Hunter's Warriors books franchise. He is a former member of ThunderClan and the apprentice of Darkstripe, who used to be one of Tigerstar 's most loyal followers.
