The Wave card is a reusable, reloadable plastic card that makes paying your bus fare quick, simple, and secure.
Beginning October 15th, the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) will introduce WAVE, a smart fare card, retiring their generational run of paper passes.
New features include card management, allowing you to add value to your Wave cards directly in the mobile app or at participating retailers using cash; real-time bus information so you can plan your trip; and apply your reduced fare status to your Wave card.
Instead of a paper card that is swiped when you get on board, the new MyWAVE card features a different technology allowing you to RIDE for quicker boarding. The MyWAVE card is only valid on fixed route bus service.
Wave cards are currently available for purchase at select retail locations across Orange County. Because supply is limited, please contact participating locations before visiting.
